Ganga Jamuna Market was a week-long moving pop-up art market operating out of the boot of a customized car, developed under the second phase of The Urdu Project with support from Futura Tropica Netroots and the Eyebeam Insitute. The project was designed to create a space for dialogue with respect to issues of urban identity in post-partition India; simulating the nomadic movements of a typical street vendor as we parked at migrant colonies in the city of New Delhi to present our wares, ideas, and experiences. The project was envisioned as a collaboration between us (the creators of the experience) and migrant communities (that engage with the experience), consolidating their oral histories into a dynamic evolution of the final experience.
